This improved variety has a higher turf quality, finer leaf texture, and darker green color compared to common types. Zenith zoysia grass is widely recognized as an improved seeded zoysiagrass. It is an excellent choice for golf courses, athletic fields, and landscapes in both transition and southern areas. Zenith zoysia grass has improved seed productivity, turf quality and playability, good density, extreme wear resistance, moderately fine leaf texture and uniformity. Zenith also has excellent heat and drought tolerance, low nitrogen fertility requirement, high purity and germination rates, easily adaptable to various types of soils, excellent turf density, improved shade and disease tolerance, and a deep green color. Zenith Zoysia grass is a low growing creeping grass that is heat resistant, drought resistant, wear resistant, and cold resistant and is known to survive as far north as Chicago extending over to New York. Zenith zoysia grass looks much like Meyer (Z-52). It is not as fine-bladed as Emerald Zoysia. Tests plots of Zenith seed clearly demonstrate that Zenith produces a higher quality turf than imported Zoysia seed.
